Samsung Galaxy S8 Tipped to Launch Alongside New Wireless In-Ear Headphones

Samsung Galaxy S8 may will now be reportedly launched with a new set of wireless earphones after news reports from earlier this month suggested that the company might ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack with its upcoming flagship smartphone. The new wireless in-ear headphones by Samsung are likely to be launched alongside its Galaxy S8 smartphone, which is expected to be announced in April next year.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Tipped to Launch Alongside New Wireless In-Ear HeadphonesThe South Korean manufacturer is expected to launch the new wireless headphones alongside its Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone but whether they will be bundled with the phone or sold separately is not known yet, as per a report by Sammobile. Even though the new Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless earphones are expected to rival Apple’s AirPods, it remains to be seen whether they will feature Harman audio or not, as per the report. The speculation stems from Samsung’s announced acquisition of Harman. The specific details about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S8 wireless earphones are not yet available but might show up as we approach the launch date of the smartphone.
As Samsung already has its Gear IconX wireless in-ear headphones out in the market, it will be interesting to see what additional features or designs the company plans to offer with its new Galaxy S8 earphones.
We recently reviewed the Gear IconX earphones and concluded that the wireless earphones from Samsung are well-designed and provide useful fitness-tracking features. However, they feature a weak battery life and just about acceptable audio quality that’s “not befitting of a product that costs Rs. 13,490.

Windows 10 VR Headset Minimum PC Requirements Revealed, and They're Pretty Basic

Windows 10 VR Headset Minimum PC Requirements Revealed, and They're Pretty BasicLast month, Microsoft announced that the company has partnered with companies like Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus and HP to make affordable VR headsets that will launch alongside the Windows 10 Creators Update in Spring 2017. These VR headsets will be powered by company’s own VR platform Holographic UI that was showcased by the company at its Surface event. Now, the minimum specifications required by Windows PCs to support this VR platform have seemingly been revealed.

The latest preview build of Windows 10 comes with a “Windows Holographic First Run” application that performs a check to find out whether user’s PC is capable enough to support the VR platform, as pointed out by The Verge. As it turns out, the minimum requirements necessary to support Windows Holographic are not as demanding as one might think, at least in the preview build.

In terms of memory, the minimum requirement to support the VR platform is 4GB of RAM. User’s Windows 10 PC is required to have a USB 3.0 port as well as a graphic card that supports DirectX 12. The CPU on the machine is further required to have 4 or more cores to support Microsoft’s VR platform.
Notably, the company says, “You’re all set. Your set up is good to play most experiences.” This effectively means that meeting these specification requirements might still not be enough to experience all VR experiences.

Even though the Windows Holographic First Run compatibility checker application is available in the latest preview builds, the full holographic shell is not yet available to run on devices like HTC’s Vive, The Verge said in its report.

The Redmond-based company is planning to hold two WinHEC events in December in order to reveal its virtual reality (VR) headset plans for Windows 10. Currently, it seems like we will have to wait till the events for the company to explain its strategy in the field going ahead.

The Basic Printer Guide for First-Time Buyers

Printing technology has considerably developed as time passes by. Whether you are a student or professional, printers are one of the essential things you need. Printers have been a great tool in printing important matters either for school, office, or your own business.

However, choosing the right printer for you can be tough. With so many options out there in the market, it is hard to select which is the best one. You can actually view the range of printers online to see what matches your preferences, but sometimes, reading about the specs is just not enough. You also have to read reviews and product comparisons to really know which one is the perfect printer.

Before you shop for a printer, you might want to take into consideration the following things:

The type of printer

One of the most significant things that you need to keep in mind prior to purchasing a printer is what type you really need. In fact, there are several types of printers available out there that fits your needs and preferences. You can consider inkjet printers for daily home and photographic use. Generally, these are great for delivering higher quality photos than laser printers.

Moreover, if you are to print large amount of documents, it is highly recommended to choose a laser printer. This type of printer is ideal for offices that demand major use. You may also opt for all-in-one printers, which has a printer, copier, and scanner. These provide you all the things you need in home or office printing. Some all-in-one printers also come with fax machines, which is a useful tool for busy small offices.

The features of the printer

Whenever you plan to buy something, especially technology stuff, it is important to know the features and specifications first. Compare and view the range of printers to identify if a specific model will work for your needs. It does not really matter what size or shape you want to purchase. Instead, you have to look for the features that will benefit you in the long run.

You need to consider the resolution of the printer you are eyeing for. This refers to the maximum number of dots per inch (dpi) that can be printed. The more dpi the printer has, the better and higher its resolution will be. More so, the connectivity feature of the printer should be checked too. These days, all printers have a USB 2.0 port. You can actually connect your printers to a computer through USB, making it easier and more convenient for everyone to produce printer copies of documents. You also have to know the print speeds of a printer. This measures the photos or pages per minute (ppm) a printer produces.

Selecting the perfect printer can be a daunting task. You really need to do your research before purchasing one. Apparently, the simple guide mentioned above will help you in choosing the ideal printer that meets all your needs and desires. You just have to determine your purpose and you will eventually decide what type of printer really works for you. This way, you will be able to get the printer that is worthy of the price, quality, and functionality.

Best Quality Ground Power Units from Start Pac

When the engines of the aircraft are switched on it is capable of generating its own power. But when the aircraft is grounded and parked, there is a need to provide from an external source because at that time the engine is switched off. Typically a power supply of 115V to 400 Hz is needed which is called as ground power.

An airplane starting unit  or the aircraft ground power unit is the equipment which allows operators to provide power in AC and or DC to the aircraft when it is on the ground. These units are utilized to help start the engine, perform its maintenance, and provide general on board power at a time when the aircraft is on the ramp or in the hangar. These ground power units are capable of operating via single phase or three phases input voltage forms a hangar or via diesel or gas. This airplane starting unit or the ground power unit is a vehicle parked on the ground.  The electricity is transferred from a generator to the aircraft. Standard connectors are used for all aircraft as per the description in ISO 6858.  A solid state unit is there which converts power from AC to DC. It also separates current for aircraft power requirements. These solid state units are supplied as stationary, bridge mounted or as mobile units.

image

The stationary or fixed power units are those which are permanently installed on the ground in the airport. These are capable of supplying 400 Hz power to the parked aircraft. There is a need to convert the mains power to 400Hz. This is done by a centralized method or at the point of use frequency converters can do the conversion. In the case of a centralized system, large amounts of power are converted in a central place and then the 400Hz power is supplied and distributed to the aircraft. In the case of the second method called as a point of use, the main power is moved close to the aircraft, and the conversion of frequency is carried out at the point of use by the use of various frequency converters. The centralized power system is good as it is cheaper. But it has several disadvantages as compared to the point of the use mode of a power supply. The major disadvantages include balancing of the system and adequate voltage drops.

In the absence of fixed ground power unit or military tank starter, the mobile power units can be helpful. The mobile power units are mounted on vehicles and they deliver power by the aid of diesel generators. Special plug-in connectors are there which can be used to connect them to the aircraft. Generally, one to four connectors can be used to supply power to the aircraft depending on the size of the aircraft. Standard IP67 connectors are used for the supply of power.

Start Pac provides an array of reliable power units for the aircraft of different sizes. At Start Pac, we do custom manufacture as per the need of the customers.
